< < PREVIOUS PAGE

Linda Williams is a professor of Film Studies and Rhetoric at the University of California, Berkeley. In 1989 Ms. Williams published a ground-breaking study of pornographic film entitled Hard Core: Power, Pleasure and the Frenzy of the Visible. This feminist study of moving-image pornography is unusual for its serious attention to the history and form of this much-maligned genre. Ms. Williams also teaches a course on the history of films and video pornography.

Topics: Linda Williams can speak and show clips on the history of pornographic film and video, the history of hard-core still photography, the visual representation of sexual pleasure and the pedagogy of pornography.
