Betty Dodson, Ph.D., artist, author, and sex educator, is an international authority on women's sexuality. She first achieved recognition with several ground-breaking erotic art exhibitions in the sixties and seventies before leaving the art world to become a feminist sexuality teacher. Dodson designed and facilitated workshops for 25 years that taught women masturbation skills. In '74 she self-published her first book, Liberating Masturbation: a Meditation on Selflove. Her next book Sex for One: the Joy of Selfloving was published in '86, and became a Crown paperback classic when it was revised ten years later. She received a PhD in sexology in '92 and has produced three videotapes that document her innovative hands-on teaching methods. Her most recent book, Orgasms for Two: the Joy of Partnersex was published in 2002. Dodson maintains her private sex coaching practice for women and couples in New York City.
