Dr. Cosman, an attorney known for work in Medical Law, is President of Medical Equity, Inc., a national medical and law practice brokerage located in San Diego, California. She values and sells medical practices and law practices. Speaker for medical meetings and bar associations, Madeleine Cosman also presents lectures for popular audiences as well as Continuing Medical Education and Continuing Legal Education courses on medical legislation and litigation, medical care and Constitutional rights, medical law and ethics, and women and medical law.

Holding a J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York City where she was a Jacob Burns Fellow, Madeleine is a member of the New York State Bar, New Jersey Bar and of Medicine. She also serves as a Barrister of the Arthur Vanderbilt Inn of Court.

Dr. Cosman is Professor Emerita of the City College of City University of New York where for 30 years she taught medical students medical law, medical business and medical history, and directed from 1968 to 1993 the 15 Department degree-granting Institute.

One of her 14 published books was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award and was a Book of the Month Club Dividend Selection. Her Selling the Medical Practice: the Physicians' and Surgeons' Guide (Bard Hall, 1988) is respected as are her many essays in National Trial Lawyer. From 1989 through 1993, she was Associate Editor of National Trial Lawyer. She writes on medical law and practice valuation for Journal of the American Medical Association, for Fair$hare: The Matrimonial Law Monthly, and for the Prentice Hall Law and Business books (now Aspen Publications) Encyclopedia of Matrimonial Practice and Valuing Professional Practices and Licenses: A Guide for the Matrimonial Practitioner. Her most popular book is Fabulous Feasts: Medieval Cookery and Ceremony (George Braziller, 1976, New York), still in print in several languages including Japanese. Her Medieval WordBook (1996) sells as a Quality Paperback.
