To suppress free speech in the name of protecting women is dangerous and wrong. -- Betty Friedan

FFE BOARD
Board of Directors
Cassandra Abodeely
The newest member of the FFE board, Cassandra Abodeely is a law student and paralegal in a law firm specializing in First Amendment and human rights issues. Her interest in protecting free speech was piqued while living and working in South Africa in the post-Apartheid period, and experiencing first-hand a nation in which an entire race of individuals, and especially women, had been silenced. During that time she became committed to protecting both the right to free speech and the rights of women. Upon her return to the United States, she taught in the Boston Public School system, giving lectures and mediating discussions for teens and young adults about the importance of free speech and its effect on each of us. Raised in New Jersey and on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, she currently lives in New York and plays for the greatest rugby club ever.
